Wow... that Rainbow Lorikeet has some dark plumage on it.
My Beau doesn't look like that, she's brighter.

Where's the nest? Is it at the base of a tree? (That's what it kinda looks like)

you can't see it's legs because it is standing in the depression it has dug into the ground for the nest. . . when it is all the way into the hole gathering pieces to remove you can only see the tip of it's tail feathers sticking out. . . that is how far under the tree roots that it has burrowed so far. . . the hole will get filled in when they are put away for the evening & it will start all over again the next day. . . ha ha . . .they are very funny to watch as they repeat this process each day.

This is interesting, I didn't know they built their nest on the ground like that. I didn't know they burrowed under tree roots like that. I need to watch some Youtube clips of this now. Thanks for sharing! :)
